Fair Trade Event
Class 5 attended a special event at the Baptist Church to find out about Fair Trade and what it means. They found out how much money goes to banana farmers compared to the amount of money made by supermarkets.
Class 5 took a trip to visit Masjid E Noor Mosque in Gloucester to help support their learning of Islam and what it means to be a Muslim. It was a fantastic experience and the children asked lots of really intelligent questions like, "Why do men and women pray separately?" and "Why do Muslims wash before praying?"
Imam Hassan was very welcoming and explained the answers to these and many more questions to help the children understand further about the Islamic religion. He also allowed the children to experience the washing routine that all Muslims must go through before praying in the Mosque. It was a very informative and enjoyable trip. Following the trip, the children wrote 'Thank-You' letters to Imam Hassan, which you can read below.
