Kindergarten

Picture 1

At the Kindergarten we nurture every child and work hard together to enable them to develop their full potential through play. Through play the children develop confidence and skills to prepare them for life in school. They are offered a wide range of activities including, painting, cooking, construction, stories and  water play to name but a few. Outside, the children play with sand, tricycles, balance bikes and scooters alongside other outdoor play and climbing equipment. They also explore the school grounds including; forest school area, trim trail and the pond and garden areas and regularly visit the chickens. We also explore our local surrounding area and community whenever we can.

Tabitha Pearce

Manager

I have worked at the British school and Kindergarten for over 10 years but have recently returned to the Kindergarten as manager after having a break from early years and child care. During this period I worked as a home care assistant. In my spare time I enjoy country side living and especially walking my dog and horse riding. I enjoy socialising with friends and family.

Emma Bennett

Play Assistant

I have worked at The British School for almost 2 years now. I am currently working towards my level 3 qualifications, “The Early Years Diploma”. I am a mother of 4 and all of my children are at The British School at the moment. I love spending time with my family and I also enjoy going to the cinema, reading and socialising with my friends.

Raija Marshall

Play Assistant

I have been a pre-school assistant at the Kindergarten since November 2009.  I came to work in childcare through childminding when my three daughters were primary-school and pre-school age and followed this with a NVQ level 3 in children’s care, development and learning. After quite a few years of working with pre-schoolers I still enjoy this age group because every day brings something new to explore and learn.

Laura Barnett

Deputy Play Leader

I have worked in childcare for 20 years, and my working history has included nursery work, working as a nanny and also within early years settings. After working as a supply for the Kindergarten for some years, I took on the role of deputy play leader in January 2014. When I am not working I am kept busy with my 3 children, walking the dog, and days out in my campervan.

Abby Ellis

Play Assistant

I joined the Kindergarten as a play assistant in the summer term of 2014. I have recently qualified in  level 3 teaching and learning GNVQ. I have lived in Wotton-Under-Edge for 22 years and I have two young children who both attend The British School. In my spare time I enjoy running, cooking and playing Hockey for Wotton Hockey Club.
