Mr Roche’s Class Autumn Term 2017
These are just a few lines to ensure everyone is clear about classroom expectations for this term and to inform you about some of the subjects we will be covering.
All children require a full set of P.E. kit comprising of shorts, t-shirt, daps or trainers. P.E. takes place on Monday and this term will be football.
Book bags will be sent home every day. Minimum requirement is that children read every week day and this is noted at the back of their homework books (at least once over the weekend). Please use the homework book as a source of communication too if you have a query and are unable to get into school to see me.
All children read to me at least once a week during guided reading sessions and they will also receive support from staff and volunteers who come into the school to help.
Children will be given homework. This is done in their homework books - one literacy and one maths per week, or on occasion topic research. Your child will be given the work on a Friday, and expected to return the homework the following Thursday. If you have any questions regarding homework please do not hesitate to contact me.
Children will be encouraged to use Manga High for their homework: - www.mangahigh.com
and are also encouraged to use the learning zone on our website:-
This term we will be studying World War 2. In Science we will be looking at forces and electricity. Our literacy will be based around these subjects. We will also be in Forest School on Thursday afternoons.
In PE we will be playing football, netball and developing our gymnastic skills.
On a Thursday morning I have PPA cover. This is a morning to allow me to plan and assess the children. During this time Mrs Brunet-Lua will be teaching the class Maths, Art and DT. As part of my professional CPD, there may be times when I am on a course or it could be I am off ill. In these circumstances supply cover will have to be found and although we endeavor to use the same teachers to cover to allow for continuity, it is not always possible. Feel free to pop in if you need to see me.
Regards Mr Roche
