The School and Eco Council meet every Wednesday afternoon with Miss Carter and Miss Flett and feedback to their class with their class teachers. 

You elected them to represent you so make sure to share your ideas with them so they can be discussed with your whole class and at the School and Eco Council meetings. 

Every now and then, your school council reps may require some help with events or special projects. Make sure to let them know if you would like to get involved.

The 2022-2023 School and Eco Council met for the first time on Wednesday 14th September and are already hard at work! They have set themselves a few rules for meetings to run smoothly and agreed to spend some precious time with their class to feed back on the topics discussed in meeting but also to listen to new ideas from their classmates. 

Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity, established to harness the high-profile nature of footballers as anti-racist role models to educate against racism. 

On Friday 21^st October, SRtRC had their annual fundraising event - Wear Red Day. The School Eco Council felt as though this was a worthwhile cause and asked all classes to take part. All children wore red and donated £1 to the charity. We also spent some time in our classes discussing what racism is and the purpose of the charity.

The British School raised a total of £124!

November 2021:

The School and Eco Council organised a non-school uniform day for Children in Need. Everyone came to school dressed in their pyjamas and donated £1. We also had a bake sale and a colouring competition to raise more money across the school!

January 2020: The school council have been busy gathering ideas from their classmates on books to buy with the money raised last year and new equipment wanted for wetplay and the Playpod. Next, we'll be planning more fundraising events. 

October 2019: 

The PTA has kindly helped us reach our target of £750 for new books. The teachers are now busy deciding carefully which books to purchase. Do not hesitate to let us have your suggestions and keep an eye out for the arrival of new books in your classrooms!

September 2019: 

This month, the school council have established a reduction of laminating through the whole school, investigated healthy lunch options and discussed possible charities to support. They have agreed to sell hot chocolates in Term 3, details to follow! In October, the Year 6 reps will be taking all food donations gathered for our Harvest festival to the Stroud Foodbank and the whole team will be planning for Children in Need which will be a couple of weeks after half term!

Past achievements of the school council:

- Fundraising  towards class Ipads and the playground development, 

- Organising Foodbank collections for the Harvest Festival and bringing the collections personally to the foodbank,

- Deciding to support Red Nose Day and Children in Need, raising fantastic amounts for such important causes, 

- Changing the wording of our lunchtime grace.
